CRITICAL ACCLAIM
What is striking about Maylin is her very unique style. She calls it “TRIBAL -BLUES -ROCK : a mix of traditional American music and the diverse cultures she has been around (among
which, the one that was passed on to her by her ancestors from Madagascar).
However, “What you first notice about Maylin is her voice: a voice with great range that feels at ease in every register and that can play with all the facets of her warm and spellbinding timbre”

BIO :
Of Malagasy heritage on my mother’s side and Franch-German on my father’s, I was raised in a multicultural environment that profoundly shaped both my identity and my artistic path. This cultural dialogue lies at the core of my work, nurturing an approach grounded in the meeting of cultures, disciplines, and artistic languages.
I began my career as a model in Milan before turning to acting in Paris. I notably appeared in La Reine Blanche by Jean-Loup Hubert alongside Catherine Deneuve, a role that earned me a selection for the César Award for Most Promising Actress. Driven by a deeper search for personal expression, I then moved to the United States, where I lived for fifteen years, developing my acting career and training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York.
During this time, music gradually became central to my artistic expression. I trained in opera singing, in addition to my studies for several years at a conservatory in France, and pursued coursework in musical harmony, English language, and American literature at Santa Monica College. I emerged as a singer-songwriter, forging a distinctive voice shaped by my cross-cultural journey.
In 2005, I released my first solo album, On My Way to See You, under the name Maylin. This was followed by the EP Run Hippy Run (2013) and the album Eagle Lion and Crows (2016). In 2017, I founded the project Maylin and the Mad Machine, releasing the EP Naked Truth, produced by American bluesman Ladell McLin, and later the EP Untamed (2024). I perform regularly on international stages, with tours in the United States, Colombia, and Italy, and a German tour scheduled for mid-to-late 2026.
Alongside my musical work, I develop audiovisual projects. I directed an advertisement for Air Madagascar, an experience that placed me at the intersection of French artistic direction and Malagasy technical expertise. Since 2014, I have created and produced Maylin’s Labs, a web series comprising more than one hundred episodes — a visual journal blending artistic, poetic, and documentary forms.
My artistic research is enriched by numerous international collaborations spanning electronic music, blues, rock, and Afro-Colombian traditions, reflecting an ongoing exploration of musical fusion and expanded sound expression. My travels, particularly in South America, have also inspired an autobiographical documentary project, under the working title Le Rock’n Roll rencontre les Chamanes (Rock ’n’ Roll Meets the Shamans), exploring the connections between music, shamanic traditions, and personal transformation.
Today, I divide my time between Paris and Poitou, where I create, compose, and produce my musical and audiovisual work. Fluent in French, English, German, and Italian, and currently studying Spanish, I consider languages essential tools for building bridges between cultures and deepening my understanding of the world.

Maylin has a habit of marking her rebirths with new stage names. This is how she returns in September 2020 as Maylin, The Buffalo Girl.
On stage, Maylin embodies a character, who is a mixture of woman, raven and tree: Buffalo girl.
Buffalo girl, her alter-ego, is a fantasized character— a superhero born out of the earth, whose mission is to reconnect people invaded by technology to their ancestral customs and the values of “root peoples”. She strives to reintroduce the notion of communion and respectful links with nature in everyday life.
Maylin desires to walk towards a personal authenticity and to express her dignity along with those who suffer. This desire pushes her to create. Thus, she encourages others by drawing on the healing power of the vibrations of the human voice.
In 2021, she releases two singles. "Sometimes" and "Come to me".
In 2022, she releases her latest single "Song for Zane", a song dedicated to Maylin's friend, Zane Musa, a reputed saxophonist prodigy from LA who committed suicide.
